The USS-360° speaker was designed by Ansion, the founder of OE company, who was not originally in sound technology industry, but in computer science. He is a total audiophile. Once he saw the German MBL360° speaker system (a 360-degree all-round speaker system designed by Wolfgang Meletzky in 1979), he thought that the sound was real, natural and perfect. From then on, he was infatuated with the real and natural sound, but the German speakers were too expensive, as it is purely handmade with complicated process. After years of hard work and computer simulations, Ansion finally invented and built a prototype of the 360° directionless speaker in 2006. Ansion approached a number of local speaker companies in Germany to try to mass-produce it, but 

they didn't accept his offer because they may thought it too difficult or expensive. He also sought for cooperation with the loudspeaker manufacturers in United Kingdom, France, Italy, the United States, Taiwan,.etc, but failed. Later, two engineers in Berlin, Mr. Mark and Mr. Byer, saw Ansion's prototype and were impressed. They saw the future of the 360° loudspeaker -- its sound is authentic, natural, and clear, which is perfect. Soon the three of them reached a common goal and decided to set up an Acoustic Laboratory together, which was named "Mark & Byer Electro Acoustic Laboratory". Since then, they have started to independently develop, design and produce 360°omni-directional speaker systems.

What is high fidelity audio?

How to define high fidelity audio? Most music aficionados will say that they seek the original sound - when you close your eyes, it's like you're there.

This depends not only on the quality of the speakers and electronics, but also on the stereo and multichannel formats currently in use. A good system with a good listening space can produce a fairly realistic acoustic illusion, which is what we want to achieve.

We are trying to replicate the true tonal properties and representation of spatial locations of instrumental music and human voice and retain this precision over a wide dynamic range. This effect is most easily achieved for small shows with chorus and soloists, because the recording room is similar in size to the listening room.

It is more difficult to achieve this effect with an entire orchestra, because we are trying to generate the spatial effect of a concert hall in a medium size listening room. That is, of course, if the recording engineers follow the process exactly, which they usually do. So when listening to classical and acoustic music through high-fidelity speakers, we ask ourselves, "Is this real sound?"

For studio-produced music such as rock and pop songs, the situation is a bit special. The music is produced in the recording studio and re-equalized electronically based on sound effects replayed by listening speakers in the studio control room. If the studio is well designed, a recording should work just as well when replayed in a regular listening room using a home audio system, these recordings will not have the same audio reference value as acoustic music; Typically, recording engineers are used primarily to produce sound pressure equalized works that produce satisfactory sound on ordinary home audio systems. However, we want to record the sound as naturally as possible, such as electronic guitars with amplified signals - it is commonplace to use electronic sound effects to enhance the content of studio music creation. For example, when recording a jazz chorus in a studio, engineers normally collect sounds from different groups of instruments and mix them together to create a harmonized mix. One set of instruments can be recorded using a "bright tone" radio microphone (or layout), while the other uses microphones with different characteristics to mix them together for a pleasing effect. However, if you listen to the individual timbre alone, you may find that it is not the same as when you listen to it in the front of the instrument.

So we need to remember that recording is not always the truth. When using studio recordings to judge loudspeaker quality, we also have to take this into account.

We also need to be very careful when it comes to film tracks, as they are more about "effects" than realism, and the quality of the human voice is often affected by how it is recorded and processed. However, as with all types of loudspeaker manufacturers, we collect many recordings and use them as a whole to obtain relevant information about the state of the loudspeaker.
